Credit cards

The first credit cards were issued in 1920 because of the growing number of car owners, since then credit cards have became part of our everyday life replacing cheques and sometimes even cash. There is a standardised system of payment and card size.

It is a common mistake to mix a credit card with a debit card. With a credit card you borrow money from your bank which you have to pay back usually at the end of the month while the bank charges you for the interest. A debit card takes the money from your bank account, therefore you don’t have to pay interest, but the fee for the transaction.
