Health insurance
Healthcare is paid for and organised by the government with money from income taxes. However under the single payer system, doctors' practices and hospitals can be private and negotiate for payments and negotiate with the payer.
Parallel to the public healthcare there are a number of private healthcare companies, that citizens are free to choose, however they cannot opt out of the official system. These companies are in the market from the beginning of the century offering various health care services such as private doctors and hospitals, specialists, private medical insurance, care of the elderly, dentistry, and cosmetic surgery.
