An inheritance tax, or in some countries estate tax, is a tax duty applying for the relatives of the deceased or inheritors in case of a testament. It is usually paid after real estate and other personal assets including car, jewellery or pieces of art.

However, inheritance tax laws differ country by country, usually it applies on beneficaries, but it is often executed under different names such as death duty or gift tax.
